Characteristics Comparison of iPads, Paper and PCs as Learning Devices

In cooperation with Kyocera Communication System Co. Ltd., for two days from October 8 to October 9, 2011, CRET conducted a comparison experiment on the effectiveness and characteristics of the iPad, paper, and PC as learning devices.
In the experiment, 60 student monitors were divided into three groups; one of these studied using the iPad, the other using paper, and the last one using laptops. The monitors of each group studied the same materials for the same length of time, and the learning effect of each group was verified through a common comprehension test which took place on paper.
(This experiment was introduced in an article featuring education in the Asahi Shimbun (Newspaper) dated on December 8, 2011)
