Dr. Kanji Akahori
Member, Board of Directors

I wish to express my sincere appreciation to CRET for selecting me to be a member of the Board of Directors. It is my honor to take part in CRET, which I believe is the nation’s leading research institute that is committed to the advancement of educational testing. An institute like CRET is in a unique position in Japan, for the subject was not given much attention in the past. It is in recent years that educational testing, based on scientific methodologies, has gained serious interest. Our aim is to deepen our understanding of educational testing in Japan, and contribute to its development.

Research involves a series of both quantitative and qualitative data, which bring us to certain research conclusions. However, I believe data are multifaceted and can be valuable resources that have a broad impact. To that end, we strive to go beyond the evaluation of the current educational testing methodologies and make CRET the leading educational testing institute in Japan.
